Jonathan Coe is an English writer. He is considered one of England's greatest narrative talents and is distinguished by the originality of his stories and his sharp wit against the contradictions of English society.
In his works, he often deals with political themes with a comic and satirical approach. A mix of humour and criticism, accompanied by a strong characterisation of the characters.
Awards received during his career include the Writers' Guild of Great Britain Best Novel award, the Prix Médicis, the European Book Prize and the Costa Book Award. He was the author of biographies: of Humphrey Bogart and James Stewart (published in Italy by Gremese editore).
